First introduced in Generation 8 with the release of Pokemon Sword and Shield, Toxtricity is a decently fast, hard-hitting Pokemon that easily earns a spot on your endgame team (we beat Leon for the first with Toxtricity in our party).
As a Poison and Electric-type Pokemon, Toxtricity has great natural resistances. Toxtricity takes reduced damage from Fighting, Flying, Poison, Bug, Steel, Grass, Electric, and Fairy-type moves.
Combined with its high Special Attack and Attack, Toxtricity can deal a lot of damage and apply devastating status effects. And it’s a force to be reckoned with in its Gigantamax form.
For reference, here are Toxtricity’s base stats:
- HP: 75
- Attack: 98
- Defense: 70
- Special Attack: 114
- Special Defense: 70
- Speed: 75
- Total: 502
But every Pokemon has a weakness – including Toxtricity.
What is Toxtricity Weak Against?
As a Poison and Electric-type Pokemon, Toxtricity is weak against Ground and Psychic-type moves. Toxtricity takes 4x damage from Ground moves and 2x damage from Psychic moves.
Players can use Psychic-type Pokemon like Espeon and Ground-type Pokemon like Garchomp to heavily damage Toxtricity. These Pokemon benefit from the 50% STAB bonus when using moves that match their type, so they’re a great option if you want to beat Toxtricity quickly because of its low defenses. Ground-type moves work especially well since they do 4x damage to Toxtricity.
Pokemon that know Psychic and Ground-type moves like Psybeam and Earthquake can also deal extra damage to Toxtricity.
