Spiritomb is a tough opponent to fight in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (BDSP). As a dual Ghost and Dark-type, Spiritomb is immune to Fighting, Normal, and Psychic moves. Spiritomb also takes reduced damage from Poison moves.
Combined with its high base stats of 108 for Defense and Special Defense, Spiritomb is not fun to fight – especially the one used by the Pokemon Champion, Cynthia. While Spiritomb is slow, it hits hard. Check out Spiritomb’s base stats to see why it’s so troublesome:
But everyone Pokemon has a weakness – including Spiritomb.
What is Spiritomb’s Weakness in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl?
Spiritomb is only weak to Fairy-type moves. Players can use Fairy-type Pokemon like Togekiss, Gardevoir, Clefable, and Azumarill to heavily damage Spiritomb. Fairy-type Pokemon benefit from the 50% STAB bonus when using Fairy moves, so they’re a great option if you want to beat Spiritomb quickly and tear through its high defenses.
Pokemon that know Fairy-type moves like Dazzling Gleam, Moonblast, or Play Rough, can also deal extra damage to Spiritomb.
