We’re back with another Live A Live guide, and this time we’re going to talk about Ou Di Wan Lee, the leader of the Indomitable Fist in the Imperial China scenario in Live A Live. After taking out the Shifu’s best fighting students, you’ll be assigned the task of fighting Ou Di Wan Lee while he holds off the assassins. But Ou Di Wan Lee is powerful and can take you out in one hit.
While this scenario seems impossible to accomplish, worry not, as we’ve got you covered in this guide; let’s prepare to obliterate the Indomitable Fist.
It doesn’t matter which of the students you end up with, as the methods used to eliminate Ou Di Wan Lee are pretty much the same across the board. You need to keep three things in mind:
Survive the first hit
It would be best if you ensured that your stats were up to the mark. Your disciple’s stamina and defenses must be high enough to survive Ou Di Wan Lee’s finishing attack. But what throws off players is that Ou Di Wan Lee uses his ultimate attack as his first move. Make sure to optimize all of your equipment in the menu, and remember to equip all your accessories.
Keep your HP above 70%
Now, don’t try to get resourceful with your items, and make sure to use them as much as possible. If your health drops below 70 percent, waste no time using the food items in your inventory. If you’re missing food items, backtrack your way to Wong Village and the Yunfa Market and interact with all the NPCs and people there. The Yunfa Market residents will be pretty much in your debt for driving the thieves away.
Food items boost your stats, enabling you to move faster, hit harder, deal more damage, defend against incoming attacks better, and mitigate incoming damage.
The effects of the food items last for about three turns. Make sure to use Kung Fu’s special move, Heavenly Peaks Descent, when you’re buffed. This will allow you to deal maximum damage, but keep in mind that you can only use this move once in the battle!
Use Tiger and Dragons Rebuke
As tough as Ou Di Wan Lee looks, he’s not resistant or immune to many of the status effects within the game. Make sure to use the moves Tiger and Dragon’s Rebuke every three turns to keep him on his toes.
You can also use Hardship Strike to inflict almost every debuff in the book. But not all the debuffs can be inflicted with just one strike, especially considering that Ou Di Wan Lee is a boss battle. But, using debuffs and status effects is better than leaving him in peak condition. Just use medium damage moves until he tires out and loses.
And that’s pretty much it for the Ou Di Wan Lee boss battle. Sure Ou Di Wan Lee is ten times the size of the player’s character and can take you out with one hit in the beginning. Still, with preparation, careful coordination, food, debuffs, status effects, and the right medium damage moves, you can take out Ou Di Wan Lee.
