As a Dark and Dragon-type Pokemon, Guzzlord has great natural resistances. Guzzlord is immune to Psychic-type moves. Guzzlord takes reduced damage from Ghost, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, and Dark-type moves.
Combined with its ridiculously high HP and decent attack stats, Guzzlord is a beast (pun intended) at tanking lots of damage and being able to dish out damage in return.
For reference, here are Guzzlord’s base stats:
- HP: 223
- Attack: 101
- Defense: 53
- Special Attack: 97
- Special Defense: 53
- Speed: 43
- Total: 570
But every Pokemon has a weakness – including Guzzlord.
What is Guzzlord Weak Against?
As a Dark and Dragon-type Pokemon, Guzzlord is weak against Fighting, Bug, Ice, Dragon, and Fairy-type moves. Guzzlord takes 4x damage from Fairy-type moves and 2x damage from Fighting, Bug, Ice, and Dragon-type moves.
Players can use Dragon-type Pokemon like Garchomp and Fairy-type Pokemon like Sylveon to heavily damage Guzzlord. These Pokemon benefit from the 50% STAB damage bonus when using moves that match their type, so they’re a great option if you want to beat Guzzlord quickly to whittle down its high HP. Fairy-types are especially effective because they deal 4x damage. Guzzlord has some of the highest HP of any Pokemon in the series, so you need all the damage you can get.
Pokemon that know Fighting-type and Fairy-type moves like Close Combat and Dazzling Gleam deal extra damage to Guzzlord.
