Dead Man’s Tale is an Exotic Kinetic Scout Rifle in Destiny 2 – with a unique twist. Dead Man’s Tale is only one of two Exotics in the game to drop with random rolls – the other being Hawkmoon, a Kinetic Hand Cannon.
So Dead Man’s Tale can either have a god roll that demolishes all content in the game, or it can be effectively useless.
But this changed with the Witch Queen expansion. Dead Man’s Tale used to be acquired through completing the Presage dungeon and it would drop with random rolls every time. Since the Presage dungeon was removed as part of Destiny’s Content Vault, Dead Man’s Tale can no longer drop when completing any content.
Luckily, getting your hands on the Dead Man’s Tale is super easy. All you have to do is visit Xûr when he’s available.
