As a Rock and Fire-type Pokemon, Coalossal has great natural resistances. Coalossal takes reduced damage from Normal, Flying, Poison, Bug, Fire, Ice, and Fairy-type moves.
Combined with its high base HP and Defense, there are only a few Pokemon that can one-shot Coalossal. And it’s a force to be reckoned with in its Gigantamax form.
For reference, here are Coalossal’s base stats:
- HP: 110
- Attack: 80
- Defense: 120
- Special Attack: 80
- Special Defense: 90
- Speed: 30
- Total: 510
But every Pokemon has a weakness – including Coalossal.
What is Coalossal Weak Against?
As a Rock and Fire-type Pokemon, Coalossal is weak against Ground, Water, Fighting, and Rock-type moves. Coalossal takes 4x damage from Ground and Water moves, and 2x damage from Fighting and Rock-type moves.
Players can use Water-type Pokemon like Vaporeon and Ground-type Pokemon like Garchomp to heavily damage Coalossal. These Pokemon benefit from the 50% STAB bonus when using moves that match their type, so they’re a great option if you want to beat Coalossal quickly and tear through its high Defense. Water and Ground-type Special moves work especially well since they do 4x damage to Coalossal and its Special Defense is lower than its Defense.
Pokemon that know Water and Ground-type moves like Scald and Earthquake can also deal extra damage to Coalossal.
