Why are we so hyped for Resident Evil 4?
Resident Evil 4 is a remake of the original RE4 that initially released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2005 and saw many re-releases on different consoles due to its popularity. In total, the game has sold over 11 million copies.
Resident Evil 4 sees players assume the role of Leon Kennedy as he travels to a rural area in Spain to rescue the President’s daughter. Players must deal with a local cult and investigate the mysterious Las Plagas parasite that’s being used to control the villagers.
When Resident Evil 4 was initially released, it drastically changed the Resident Evil series. The game used an over-the-shoulder camera to make players feel closer to the action. The game also had much more action than compared to previous Resident Evil games while still including survival horror aspects the series is known for.
Over the past few years, Capcom has been remaking many of the Resident Evil games. And they’ve all been Very Good. The remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 are some of the best games to come out in the past decade. The memories we have of playing Resident Evil 4 in our high school days are still fresh and the nostalgia wave from playing this remake is sure to be a good one.
We’re very excited to see what Capcom has in store for us with the release of Resident Evil 4 in 2023.
